The Journal is currently accepting submissions. Please follow the guidelines below for submitting articles, essays, book reviews, and any other scholarly legal work. The Journal does not publish student work except as submitted by Columbia Law School students through our Notes program.
The Journal publishes two print issues each year (winter and summer) and one online issue connected with the annual Climate Change Symposium. All submitted manuscripts must be unpublished and submitted electronically, either by email or through the Expresso or Scholastica submission services. To email a manuscript to the Journal for consideration, please send the following c/o Submissions Editor to firstname.lastname@example.org:
- A cover letter or email briefly describing the article, along with the author’s background and contact information.
- A resume including a list of prior published works.
- A file containing a double-spaced copy of the manuscript. The file must be in Microsoft Word .doc or .docx format. Citations must conform to The Bluebook: A Uniform System of Citation (20th ed. 2015) and should be contained in footnotes rather than endnotes.
If you have received an offer of publication from another journal and would like to request an expedited review, please contact the Submissions Editor at the email address above. When requesting expedited review, please provide (1) the title of your article, (2) the journal from which you have an offer of publication, and (3) the date by which you must receive a decision from the Journal.
